1996 vehicles didn't have USB ports, so I can listen to the older iPod through the Bluetooth (although on a small speaker with tinny audio). When I bought the 128GB iPod touch in March, I took our older, smaller 12GB iPod touch to my 1996 van. But pressing the "play" arrow can bring up either the paused song or "Above All." At other times the "play" arrow appears with "Above All." In either case, I then have to scroll to the playlist to find the next song. Strangely, there are times when the name of the paused song appears with a "play" arrow. It may play the song where I left off, or it may start playing "Above All" without our doing anything. Other times I restart the car, the audio system recognizes the iPod on the USB, and the iPod comes on. But 40% to 60% of the time, it plays "Above All." Then it may show up with the song I was playing when I shut off the engine. Then I'll enter the passcode, and a few seconds later the "USB" option appears on the audio system's screen. Often when I restart the car, the audio system doesn't even recognize that there is an iPod plugged into the USB. Normally I shut off the car without even touching the iPod it automatically goes to "pause" when it is disconnected from the audio system. We love the song but don't need to hear it every time we start the car! Especially when there are 1000+ other songs on the iPod! Isn't that why we develop playlists? Other times, it defaults to the first song title in the library alphabetically, "Above All" by Michael W. Sometimes if I make a brief stop at the store, it will restart from the same place that I shut off the engine. When I shut off the car engine, it pauses the iPod. The iPod is plugged into the USB port and comes up on the audio system. Restarting doesn't seem to solve the problem. We don't restart or close the iPod very often, except when updating the software. We are using iOS 12.3, with songs synced from our computer's iTunes - some purchased, some ripped from CD's or even vinyl. It happens anywhere from 40% to 60% of the time. The iPod is used in our car, a 2018 Toyota. ![]() ![]() Sarah, thanks for your reply! To answer your fact-finding questions:
